The highly anticipated, yet severely delayed James Bond film may find its home on Netflix or Apple TV, as the two streaming giants look to shell out big bucks to get 007 on their platforms.

The news that the film – No Time to Die – was potentially going to a streaming service was first dropped by film critic and screenwriter Drew McWeeny on his Twitter.

McWeeny did not give a figure as to how much the film could go for, but did tweet that there was ‘serious pressure’ for MGM to sell the film, given the impact the coronavirus pandemic continues to have on theatrical releases.

‘And there are some MONSTER offers on the tables,’ the critic added.

Cinematic releases in theaters have all but come to a screeching halt due to COVID-19 and some massive projects have already had to settle for the streaming release.

Netflix, Apple TV and other streaming platforms have been scooping up films that would otherwise have theatrical releases

Mulan went straight to Disney Plus for an additional $30 cost to consumers on top of the already $7 subscription plan.

Coming 2 America will be released by Amazon Studios in December and has been reported as being sold for more than $120million.

McWeeny did speculate that the film could be sold for several hundred million dollars, responding to a person who commented on the acquisition of Coming 2 America.
