Love Island’s Cara De La Hoyde slams troll who claims ‘nobody cares’ about her baby’s birth

Cara De La Hoyde clapped back at a Twitter troll, who claimed ‘nobody cares’ about the birth of her baby – just hours after she welcomed her daughter into the world.

The former Love Island star, 29, welcomed her ‘beautiful baby girl’ in the early hours of Tuesday morning with her husband Nathan Massey.

And after she received a congratulatory message from Capital UK on Twitter, the troll wrote on the micro-blogging platform: ‘Where’s the actual news and talent uk reality stars don’t have any actual talent on and off camera wasted talent.’ [sic]

To further drive their unwelcome comment home, the person added a GIF of SpongeBob SquarePants flanked by the words ‘NOBODY CARES’.

Not missing a beat, new mother Cara quickly struck back: ‘I’d love to see you push a baby out of your penis dan… now that would be a talent,’ rounding out her response with a flushed face emoji.

Cara was taken into hospital on Saturday to be induced after doctors diagnosed her with pre-eclampsia, a condition which causes high blood pressure and can be deadly for both a woman and her unborn baby if untreated.

‘Mum and baby are both doing well, and the couple would like to thank the hospital for the amazing care, and a special thanks to their midwife Teresa.’

Cara was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, after being diagnosed with pre-eclampsia by her midwife.

The Love Island star, who was 37 weeks into her pregnancy, told fans last week how she was visiting a head consultant to see what steps would be taken.

Sharing a snap showing her carrying her son Freddie, Cara penned a lengthy caption detailing the condition and lauded her hospital for and the NHS for their help.

WHAT IS PREECLAMPSIA?

Preeclampsia is a serious pregnancy complication.

It causes high blood pressure and signs of damage to other organs, usually the liver and kidneys.

In most women, preeclampsia begins after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Even a slight rise in blood pressure may be a sign of the condition.

Left untreated, preeclampsia can lead to serious or fatal complications for the mother and her baby.

Alongside the stunning family photo, Cara wrote: ‘The last few days have been pretty up & down, still not out of the woods yet…

‘I have been diagnosed with ‘Preeclampsia’ after my local midwife spotted the signs at my appointment yesterday Thankyou everyone for all your messages of love & concern, I’m seeing the head consultant tomorrow to see what the next steps are…

‘Again a massive Thank you to the NHS and all the ladies @darent_valley_hospital. But seeing this face & knowing he’s going to be a big brother makes it all worth it’.

The couple, who already share two-year-old son Freddie, first announced the happy news that they were expecting in March.

Brunette beauty Cara found out she was pregnant while the couple were staying in a hotel in Leeds before she woke Nathan, also 29, up at five in the morning to tell him.

The TV personality revealed she took two pregnancy tests before going for an early scan and anticipated having a home birth.

Cara took to Instagram to reveal the news with a snapshot showing Nathan kissing her bump as she kissed little Freddie.

She captioned the piece: ‘We are so excited to let you know our very nappy news in the latest @new_magazine.’

Sparks instantly flew between the couple when they paired up on the first day of Love Island back in 2016 – remaining a unit for the entirety of the season.

The couple tied the knot in June 2019 while in Kent surrounded by family and friends with X Factor’s Scarlett Lee singing at the ceremony.

In a previous interview with OK! magazine, Cara and Nathan revealed they wanted to have a ‘big’ family, ideally with their first two children born together, then waiting until their offspring are attending school before having a third.

The birth comes after Cara revealed she was struggling with the pregnancy during the global pandemic.

In a candid post to her followers, the TV personality confessed she feels like she’s missing out on all the best bits of expecting a baby and keeps forgetting she’s got another child on the way in the midst of all of her other worries.

She wrote: ‘I still keep forgetting that we’ve got another one on the way, and to be honest with you all I’m really not enjoying this pregnancy.

‘It’s probably something that I shouldn’t say out loud but I just wanted to let any other mums to be if their feeling the same way that I am too.

‘I’m sure the mumsbrigade will moan & tell me not to be selfish and I’m lucky to be having and baby and that there is a global crisis going on.

‘And I agree with all the statements but it’s not taking away from the fact that I feel robbed of being able to enjoy this amazing time with my family & friends.

‘Nothing I or anyone can do, just the way it is but thanks for listening & hopefully we might be free again by the time this one is nearly making an appearance’.
