Channel 10 offers a SAVAGE response to Bachelor In Paradise star Jamie Doran

Channel 10 has responded to Bachelor in Paradise star Jamie Doran’s announcement on Wednesday that he intends to sue the network and Warner Bros.

A spokesperson dismissed the legal threat in a brief statement, saying that Jamie had not in fact engaged lawyers to act on his behalf against the broadcaster and production company.

‘Network 10 has not received any papers regarding this claim,’ a spokesperson said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Jamie, 40, had claimed on Instagram that he was taking legal action over his negative portrayal on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.

Hitting back: Channel 10 has responded to Bachelor in Paradise star Jamie Doran’s (pictured) announcement on Wednesday that he intends to sue the network and Warner Bros.

‘This is not the news I wanted to post, but I feel I owe this to at least my family, friends, and also fans of The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise,’ his post began.

He continued: ‘After lengthy consideration, I’ve decided to begin legal proceedings against Network 10 and Warner Bros. Australia.

‘I’m not going to comment on this any further for the time being and would appreciate it if people would respect my privacy.’

Jamie has been portrayed as a ‘stage-five clinger’ on Bachelor in Paradise so far this season, and received a similar edit on The Bachelorette last year.

Some viewers have complained on Twitter that producers seem to be going out of their way to make him look mentally unhinged.

Last week, Bachelor in Paradise fans couldn’t believe their eyes when Jamie suffered one of the biggest meltdowns in the show’s history.

But it turns out viewers didn’t see the half of it – as it has since been claimed that he went missing after trying to escape the Mango Bay Resort in the middle of the night.

He was apparently so upset by the prospect of his ‘best friend’ Timm Hanly leaving the show that he slipped past producers and attempted to flee to the airport.

Producers sent out a search party to find Jamie, and he was eventually located at a bus stop, where he was waiting to catch a bus to the airport.

‘He wanted out – he’d had enough of the stage-five clinger stuff and hated that all the women were saying he was too old for them,’ a source told Woman’s Day.

‘He was determined – he was headed for that airport and he was going to fly home. He was feeling really low.’

During last Wednesday’s episode, Paradise viewers were left stunned when Jamie began crying hysterically and threatening to leave.

He was so distraught at the thought of being ‘abandoned’ by Timm, who was considering going home early, that he packed his bags and wanted to quit, too.

‘My friendship with Timm is everything. Timm is my best friend!’ Jamie tearfully told producers in a scene many viewers found troubling.

Jamie then pleaded with Timm not to leave, telling the shaggy-haired larrikin he ‘doesn’t know how much he means’ to him during a tense bedroom showdown.

‘You know I came here because of you. Timm! Please, bro! Timm! You f**king know how much you mean to me!’ wailed Jamie as his friend packed his bags.

‘Look how much you’re f**king hurting me right now! I want to wake up and see you every morning. Timm, please man! Stop packing! No! No! No!’ he shrieked.

A baffled Timm replied: ‘I’m not dying, bro!’

Hundreds of bewildered viewers reacted to the scene on Twitter, with several saying that Jamie’s meltdown was difficult to watch.

However, some fans were more sympathetic and said they were genuinely concerned for Jamie’s well-being after his emotional display.

‘I’m legitimately worried about Jamie’, one fan tweeted.
