The Masked Singer fans are convinced Grey’s Anatomy star Kate Walsh will appear

The Masked Singer fans are convinced this Grey’s Anatomy star will appear on the new season thanks to one VERY telling clue

The Masked Singer’s season two premiere will air next week, but fans believe they’ve already worked out the identity of one mystery performer.

Speculation is mounting that Grey’s Anatomy star Kate Walsh will be behind one of the masks, after Channel 10 released a clue teasing that a ‘big name from an Emmy-winning series’ will appear.

The American actress, 52, has been quietly living in Perth for the past five months.

Is she behind the mask? Speculation is mounting that Grey’s Anatomy star Kate Walsh, 52, (pictured) will appear on The Masked Singer this season

She initially travelled Down Under for a holiday in March, but after initially becoming stuck in the country due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, she decided to make the move move more permanent.

Just as The Masked Singer’s clue suggests, Grey’s Anatomy is an Emmy-winning series, having won four Primetime Emmy Awards and received 38 nominations over the years.

Kate previously demonstrated her dancing prowess on The Ellen Degeneres show in 2018, when she performed a comedic pole dance routine live on stage.

She also showcased her singing chops back in 2011 when she performed a short song in Grey’s Anatomy’s famous musical episode.

‘Put it this way, I had to take voice lessons for this,’ she joked to E! at the time.

It comes after Kate told The Daily Telegraph that she has no intentions of returning to her home in America until her visa runs out in December.

‘I didn’t really want to go back to New York in the middle of a pandemic when it was pretty gnarly to say the least,’ she said

‘I couldn’t go home initially, and now that I can, I don’t really fancy going back. When I have my own mother saying don’t come home, my 86-year-old mum… we are in a very challenging time!’

Kate believes that Fremantle, which is one of the country’s busiest port cities, will make the perfect backdrop for several big-budget projects she is hoping to bring Down Under.

She cited her inspiration as Nicole Kidman, who is preparing to start filming on her new TV series Nine Perfect Strangers, which has reportedly produced 100s of local jobs in New South Wales.

‘The whole world is looking to Australia with how amazingly well – even with the surge in Victoria – how Australia in general has handled the pandemic has been remarkable and inspiring,’ Kate added.

There will be a total of 12 celebrities competing on The Masked Singer this year.
