The Veronica’s singer Lisa Origliasso has shared a heartbreaking post about missing her mother Colleen after they were separated due to coronavirus restrictions.

The 35-year-old posted a photo of herself in tears to Instagram and said it’s difficult being apart from her 72-year-old mother, who is battling with Lewy body dementia.

‘I miss my mummy too much today. I wish I was as strong as she is. I wish things were different,’ the musician wrote.

‘Experiencing sadness and anxiety can be physically and mentally [debilitating] for me. I know there’s a lot of people there that might be feeling the same,’ she said.

She continued: ‘With everything going on in the world, it’s easy for these feelings to be amplified so we need to find healthy ways to cope and protect ourselves. It’s an ongoing daily commitment for me.’

Lisa went on to say ‘some days I feel strong, and other days, even weeks, I can feel so low I can’t even write back a friend or get out of bed.’

The singer also told her followers to be kind to themselves and to be grateful for the ‘sweet things’ in life.

Lisa said: ‘Be kind to yourself, stay grounded in reality and find simple sweet things to be grateful for everyday. Simply surviving as a human being right now is enough. More than enough. I am with you and surrounding you with love and healing energy.’

‘Take some deep breaths and do something nice for yourself or someone you love,’ she ended.

‘Watching someone you are deeply in love with and care for, faced with their own mortality is a pain I struggle to find the words to express.’

Jessica explained that social media posts only scratch the surface of her pain, and thanked her family and boyfriend Kai Carlton for their support.

‘Grieving for someone who is still alive requires great perspective,’ she wrote. ‘I am so proud of the strength my sister and dad show every single day.’
