One vacancy advertises for the position of a Building Supervisor with the Privy Purse and Treasurer’s Office at Windsor Castle.

The 40-hour-a-week role ‘ideally’ requires a (IWFM) qualification, is paid at £30,000, and reads: ‘Joining our professional and expert in-house team in a new role, you’ll supervise day-to-day works being carried out across the Royal Estate in Windsor.’

Meanwhile the Maintenance Technician vacancy, also at the Privy Purse and Treasurer’s Office at Windsor Castle, carries a salary of £25,000 – £30,000.

It says: ‘You’ll be challenged to provide exceptional customer service to a range of people, whether you’re preparing for a function or responding to a call out. You’ll also supervise contractors on site, providing guidance and advice to ensure work is always carried out accurately, in line with compliance and to the highest standard.’

In May the Royal Family appeared to have placed their recruitment drive on hold as they self isolated at their respective homes with a reduced household.

The Queen, who is staying at Windsor Castle, usually has an array of vacancies on the Royal Family website, often advertising for front of house staff, gardeners and cooks for Buckingham Palace and the other royal residencies.

However a note at the time said that there are ‘no current jobs available at this time.

Meanwhile a link directing royal jobseekers to work for Prince Charles and Camilla, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton, showed they had also frozen their recruitment.

A note on all of their pages reads: ‘Sorry, there are currently no jobs available at this time.

‘If you have already registered with the Royal Household online application system, you are able to register to receive emails when new jobs are posted.’

The Cambridges spent lockdown isolating at Amner Hall, in Norfolk, with Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2.

Meanwhile Charles, who has recovered from coronavirus, and Camilla are staying at Balmoral, in Scotland.

Buckingham Palace was closed for the summer for what is believed to be the first time in 27 years, with events including Trooping the Colour and Her Majesty’s garden parties cancelled, The Sunday Times reported at the weekend.

It is believed to be the 94-year-old monarch’s longest absence from her official duties in her 68 year reign, with her schedule not expected to resume until into the autumn at the earliest.
