Barcelona confirmed the £64million deal for Pjanic on the same day that midfielder Arthur Melo agreed to go in the other direction to Juventus in late June.

The Bosnian midfielder has put pen to paper on a deal at the Nou Camp until the end of the 2023-24 campaign, with Barcelona inserting a staggering buyout clause of £365million in his contract.

He finished out the rest of the season at Juventus due to the complications resulting from the pandemic, with the Italian giants winning yet another Serie A title. Arthur also remained in Spain until Barcelona’s season ended.

The Old Lady fell in the round of 16 of this season’s Champions League with a defeat to Lyon.

With the completion of Juventus’ 2019-20 season, Pjanic’s move was recently made official.

The 30-year-old played 43 games for Juventus in all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing eight assists.

He will be playing for Barcelona for the upcoming season, but will have to remain in Italy until he is deemed safe to travel.
