The Bachelor’s resident beauty queen Gemma White suffers a series of embarrassing onscreen gaffes when she confuses ‘chess’ for ‘chest’ and ‘base jumping’ for ‘space jumping’

Gemma White suffered a series on embarrassing blunders during Thursday’s episode of The Bachelor.

The 28-year-old beauty queen confused the word ‘chess’ with ‘chest’, before later confusing ‘base jumping’ for ‘space jumping’.

‘Locky [Gilbert] takes us out front and we see a huge chest board, so we assume that we’re playing human chest,’ she said without a hint of irony.

Later on, after winning the challenge, Gemma boasted about being ‘the winner of compatibility chest’, before a producer corrected her from offscreen.

‘Chest,’ she insisted, prompting the producer to once again inform her that the word was ‘chess’.

‘Oh, is there not a “T” on the end?’ she asked.

Her prize for winning the challenge was a one-on-one date with Locky, and it wasn’t long before they started discussing the 31-year-old’s love of base jumping.

‘I think space jumping would be… pretty dangerous,’ she told a pained-looking Locky.

Despite repeating the words ‘space jumping’ throughout their conversation, the Bachelor star didn’t correct her.

It was only later on, when Gemma sat down to talk to the show’s producers that she was informed the correct name is ‘base jumping’.

‘It’s space jumping, isn’t it? You’re looking at me like it’s not called space jumping,’ she told them earnestly.

‘It’s base jumping,’ corrected a producer, prompting Gemma to burst out laughing, before adding, ‘Base, is it? Oh, I thought it was called space jumping.’

The Bachelor continues Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel Ten
