It has been described as one of the most grueling shows on Australian TV.

And the latest trailer for the upcoming reality series SAS Australia, shows some of the celebrity cast members being intimidated by terrifying ex-SAS soldiers. 

But PR maven Roxy Jacenko appears unshaken in the promo, giggling as one removes a burlap sack from her head.

The 40-year-old is caught attempting to contain her laughter before the soldier hisses: ‘Don’t smile at me.’

Her eyes quickly veer toward the ground as she and the 16 other celebrity contestants stand on a dreary beach, blissfully unaware of the challenges to come.

The military-style competition, which premieres on Channel Seven on October 19, will have the celebrities undergoing a range of physical and psychological exercises, including sleep deprivation and interrogation. 

The cast includes Schapelle Corby, Nick Cummins, Candice Warner, Arabella Del Busso, Shannan Ponton, Sabrina Frederick and Ali Oetjen, who are also captured struggling through the brutal challenges in the trailer.

‘These celebrities are going to have the shock of their lives. The course will reveal every flaw, every weakness, every insecurity,’ former British Special Forces agent Ant Middleton says in the trailer.

‘The biggest mistake these celebrities could make is thinking they’re coming on some kind of game show.

‘There will be no directors to say cut, there will be no lattes, there will be no winnebagos to go to.

‘It will be a shock to their system … They’ll think they’re in hell.’

The trailer also reveals some of the harsh realities the celebrities will face, including crawling through mud, sitting in freezing water, overcoming obstacle courses and enduring harsh weather, such as snow.

It also shows a frightened-looking Ali holding a gun and being screamed at by a soldier.

‘What am I doing?’ she says as she frantically looked around.

Meanwhile, Schapelle is reduced to tears while standing alongside her teammates. 

SAS Australia premieres Monday, October 19 at 7.30pm on Channel Seven
