‘I expected to fail’: Guy Sebastian reveals his bitter split from longtime manager Titus Day affected his songwriting abilities and put a strain on his marriage to wife Jules

Guy Sebastian has lifted the lid on his split from former manager Titus day.

In July, the celebrity agent was hit with 61 charges after Guy, 38, accused him of defrauding him of a staggering $1.15million when their professional relationship spectacularly imploded in 2017.

Speaking about the ordeal to The Daily Telegraph on Sunday, Guy has explained that the bitter fall-out put a strain on his professional endeavours and his marriage to wife, Jules.

Fears: Guy Sebastian, 38, (pictured) has admitted he feared he would never be capable of writing a good song again after splitting from his estranged former manager, Titus Day

‘I was going to the writing session and I had all the negative thoughts. ‘What are you going to do in a session, you haven’t written a song for ages,’ said The Voice coach.

Guy added that it was difficult to overcome the acrimonious split with Day – who was a pivotal member of his entourage for 12 years, working as his protector, promoter and keeper of secrets.

‘Since it all went down, I couldn’t write,’ he said. ‘So I went there with the mindset that I had forgotten how to do this or an expectation it was going to fail’.

‘Meanwhile, in the background, I’ve got in my head ‘Mate, I’m going to ruin your life, I’m going to ruin your reputation, you’re done.”.

The Former Australian Idol winner said that he was finally able to use his last conversation with Day as fuel for his 2018 song Before I Go, which is the lead single from his forthcoming album, T.R.U.T.H.

Guy also explained that his public falling out also put a strain of his relationship with his wife, Jules, who was said to be close to Day’s former Sony executive wife, Courtney.
