Lenny Kravitz discusses his ‘wonderful’ relationship with ex-wife Lisa Bonet and her husband Jason Momoa – and reveals the cute name their kids call him

His new tell-all book, Let Love Rule, centres around the first 25 years of his life and ends during his married years with ex-wife, Lisa Bonet.

And Lenny Kravitz, 56, has explained that following their divorce in 1993, it was always his intention to remain on friendly terms with Lisa, 52, with who he shares daughter, Zoë, 30.

Speaking to Stellar magazine, the American musician gushed about his close relationship with the actress, her husband of three years Jason Momoa and their two children, Lola, 13, and Nakoa-Wolf, 11.

He told the publication: ‘We are one family unit – between my daughter [Zoe], Lisa and Jason, and their two kids, who call me Uncle Lenny.

‘We all love one another, we have one another’s backs; it’s wonderful,’ he added.

The Fly Away singer also discussed not referencing his high-profile romances with Kylie Minogue, Madonna and, in particular, Nicole Kidman, in his book.

With the book covering the first 25 years of his life, Lenny said that a potential second book might address the relationships he pursued following his marriage to Lisa.

‘I’ve always been very open and honest, so anything that happened in my life will be in there. But it’ll be a while before the next book,’ he said.

Lenny dated Nicole from 2002 to 2003, and during that time they were engaged.

The Academy award-winning actress revealed their engagement in 2017 during an interview with The Edit in which she discussed working with Lenny’s daughter, actress Zoë during the series, Big Little Lies.

‘Well, I knew Zoë because I was engaged to her father. It’s all in the family! I love Lenny; he’s a great guy,’ she gushed.  

Lenny’s Memoir, Let Love Rule, will focus on the first 25 years of his life and explained that he wanted he wanted the story to delve deeper into his journey and finding his voice.

Lenny’s memoir, Let Love Rule, is out October 13.
