Keeler actress Sophie Cookson looks fresh-faced as she takes a stroll with her baby

Keeler actress Sophie Cookson looks fresh-faced as she takes a stroll with her baby and boyfriend Stephen Campbell Moore

She recently played Christine Keeler – the sassy brunette who brought down a government.

But Sophie Cookson seemed just as comfortable in the decidedly less glamorous role of new mother as she took a stroll with her baby in London on Friday.

The 30-year-old was hardly recognisable as she walked with boyfriend Stephen Campbell Moore, 40, – the ex-husband of The Crown star Claire Foy.

As her partner steered the buggy after grabbing coffees, Sophie looked a far cry from her role as the young model in The Trial Of Christine Keeler – about the Profumo affair which rocked Harold Macmillan’s government in the 1960s.

She wore a loose-fitting polka-dot white dress, a cream cardigan and black trainers, with her blonde hair in a bun.

The actress went without a scrap of makeup and perched sunglasses on her head.

The couple met in 2017 while making the film Red Joan. That year Stephen had surgery for a benign brain tumour.

In February 2018 he and Claire Foy, 36, announced their four-year marriage was over, saying they had been apart for some time.

In a statement released at the time of their split in February 2018, the couple said: ‘We have separated and have been for some time. We do however continue as great friends with the utmost respect for one another.’

They have a daughter Ivy Rose, now five. At the end of 2018 History Boys star Stephen and Sophie were pictured together in London, with the actress even wearing his cap.

Earlier this year, Sophie wowed critics and viewers alike in BBC1’s The Trial Of Christine Keeler, in which she played the troubled Sixties’ model.

The drama told the story of how Harold Macmillan’s government was rocked in 1963 when War Minister John Profumo confessed in the Commons to having an affair – after first denying it – with the 19-year-old Keeler. She was also linked to Soviet spy Yevgeny Ivanov.
