Pregnant Rebecca Adlington says she ‘loved’ lockdown with her ex Harry Needs

Rebecca Adlington has revealed she ‘loved’ spending lockdown with her family as it meant they all got to spend lots of time with her daughter, Summer.

During the past six months, the pregnant Olympian has shared updates into her time spent with ex Harry Needs, his partner Michael Gunning, 26, and her beau Andrew Parsons, 30.

The former professional swimmer, 31, told The Sun: ‘We are so on board when it comes to Summer… I loved lockdown with her and having that time together.’

Although soaking up the time with her five-year-old daughter, Rebecca did admit that it wasn’t always easy.

She said: ‘It was hard at times, don’t get me wrong, but I look at it now and think we’ll never get that time back and it was the situation we are in. And Summer didn’t know any different.’

During lockdown the blended family spent lots of time with each other, although Rebecca has denied they lived together and has even used hashtags on Instagram group snaps to clarify this.

Explaining the situation, Rebecca previously told HELLO! that Summer spends three days with Harry and then three days wither her.

She said: ‘We have co-parented really well and found our routine. She gets the best of both worlds!’

Harry and Rebecca split in 2016 after 18 months of marriage, and Rebecca went onto reveal she was dating property manager Andrew Parsons in 2018.

She first confirmed her romance with Andrew in December 2018, marking her first relationship since her divorce from Harry two years earlier.

Harry came out as bisexual in June this year, and told BBC News that he entered into a relationship with another man in 2019 and said he didn’t feel he could truly say he was bisexual until this happened.

During lockdown, Rebecca and Andrew have been having work done on their home to add an extension meaning they haven’t always had a fully functioning kitchen.

This has made sticking to a healthy diet a little more tricky than usual, but Rebecca said she’s made sure to make time to work out.

She revealed that keeping fit was also important as she put on ‘around four stone’ when pregnant with Summer, adding that much of this was water weight.

Pregnant Rebecca also discussed how her little girl is adapting to the idea of becoming a big sister.

She said: ‘Summer is so sweet and caring. Summer loves touching the bump every day and she likes to give it a kiss. She talks to him like, ‘Hi, baby’.’

Rebecca recently revealed that her second child, and first with Andrew, is a boy.

She told HELLO!: ‘He was on his back with his legs wide open showing us his full package. I couldn’t stop laughing. It was such a funny, joyous moment.’
