Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston share a joke between takes

They resumed filming series six earlier this month after the coronavirus pandemic halted filming earlier this year.

And Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston were back at it as they filmed scenes for Line of Duty in the Cathedral Quarter in Belfast on Wednesday.

The trio looked in good spirits as they were scene laughing and joking with each other between takes of the gritty drama.

Vicky, 37, and Martin, 36, appeared to share a joke as they stood next to a police car and kept warm with coffees for one scene.

The actress cut a casual figure in between takes as she wrapped up for the autumn weather in a dark padded jacket which she paired with black trousers.

Vicky, who plays Detective Inspector Kate Flemming, also sported a grey polo neck jumper and brown boots for the shoot.

Adrian, 62, Superintendent Ted Hastings, was dressed in his police uniform and carried his hat in his hand as he stepped into a cop car.

Martin, who plays Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott, was dressed in a light grey suit for the day of filming as he shot a scene with Vicky and Adrian.

The cast were careful to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines as they were seen wearing face masks in between takes.

Earlier this month, Line Of Duty fans claimed to have pointed out a ‘huge spoiler’ after show creator Jed Mercurio shared a snap from filming.

The writer, 54, took to Twitter to share a collection of photos of DS Steve Arnott, Ted Hastings and DI Kate Fleming, as they playfully posed on set.

Yet eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that DS Steve Arnott had lost his ‘sergeant stripes’ from his uniform as they questioned whether he had been demoted or was going undercover.

Elsewhere other fans came up with another bizarre theory as they noted Ted Hastings was stood in front of a piece of graffiti which had the letter H.

Posting a zoomed in picture with a red ring around it, a Line Of Duty fan commented: ‘Massive spoilers on wall.’

In the most recent series five finale, creator Jed dropped the bombshell there was not just one super villain H but four caddies.

Steve discovered the vital clue when a clip of DI Matthew ‘Dot’ Cottan’s dying declaration was played during AC-12 boss Ted Hasting’s interrogation with Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell-Martin).

Line Of Duty resumed filming in September after a five-month hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The BBC police drama suspended shooting for series six back in March, but leading actor Martin returned to set to shoot socially-distanced scenes last month.

Show creator Jed thanked fans for their ‘patience’ and assured that the cast and crew are aiming to have the sixth season back on air ‘as soon as possible’.
