James Boggia is mocked for pouring out his feelings in a love letter on The Bachelorette

‘Is he reading out Bec Hewitt’s wedding poem?’ James Boggia is mocked for pouring out his feelings in a love letter on The Bachelorette

It can be hard to find a way to stand out when your girlfriend is dating eight other men.

So on Thursday’s episode of The Bachelorette, suitor James Boggia, 28, decided to try and impress Elly Miles by reading out a sweet old-fashioned love letter.

But it appears the dramatic move failed to impress audiences watching from home.

‘He sounded like a fifth grader’: Viewers have mocked The Bachelorette’s James Boggia (right) for giving Elly Miles (left) a lengthy love letter during the show’s outrageous cocktail party

Many viewers at home were quick to flock to Twitter to mock the professional wakeboarder.

‘Is James reading out Bec Hewitt’s wedding poem,’ inquired one fan.

‘Omg that James letter was so cringe. He sounded like a fifth grader reading a love letter to his crush,’ one person wrote.

‘James’ love letter was a straight copy and paste from the book of ”How to Sound Genuine”,’ another joked.

A third quipped: ‘We love a man who can only be vulnerable when he’s reading off a piece of paper.’

Meanwhile, viewers couldn’t take their eyes off James’ fashion sense during the show’s cocktail party and rose ceremony.

The divisive hunk donned a dangling crucifix earring for the occasion – in a move Osher Günsberg labelled as ‘very 1988 George Michael’ – and draped his body in a loud blue and gold blazer.

Fans couldn’t help but comment on the loud outfit, with one writing: ‘Why is that guy wearing a jacket made of curtains?’

‘Say what you want about James, but he’s the only one who made the effort to sew his outfit tonight using the rose room wallpaper,’ another said.

Even host Osher Günsberg got involved in the mockery, saying: ‘The Crucifix earring is very 1988 George Michael.’
