Lindsey Vonn hits out at body shamers after receiving ‘ruthless comments’ about her figure: ‘I’m not a size zero and that’s perfectly fine with me’

She has been on the receiving end of insensitive body shamers.

But Lindsey Vonn doesn’t mind not being a size zero.

The Olympic athlete, 36, shared a powerful message about embracing her figure exactly as it is, as she reflected on some of the mean comments she had been receiving about her body type.

In the statement, Lindsey said she was ‘proud’ to have never undergone any sort of plastic surgery as she reflected on all the ‘ruthless comments’ that have hurt her.

‘I’ve posted quite a few swimsuit pics lately, which is scarier than it seems,’ she began. ‘Even as an athlete there are ruthless comments and media stories that tear apart my body and I admit it sometimes hurts me.

‘I’m a normal person and sometimes I slouch, my stomach folds over, my cellulite shows on my butt, or I don’t fill out my swimsuit top just right….But, I always remember how my body has helped me achieve amazing things in my life and I am proud of how strong I am.

‘I’m not a size zero and that’s perfectly fine with me. One thing I can promise all of you is that I never Photoshop my photos and am proud to officially never had any plastic surgery of any kind.

‘No Botox, no fillers, no mini surgeries. Literally nothing. I am 100% natural and 100% Lindsey. So to anyone who is feeling self conscious or down about their appearance; stay strong, stay healthy and love yourself no matter what the haters say. Special thanks to all of you who have been positive and supportive… lets keep up the culture of body positivity going!’

Accompanying the message were several photos of herself clad in a bikini, several of which were from her recent water trips.

Lindsey has been living it up the last few days on a beach getaway for her 36th birthday.

During her trip, Lindsey swam with sharks with her fiance P.K. Subban and generally enjoyed life on the beach.

Lindsey and Subban have been engaged for over a year now but, like so many other engaged couples, are in a bit of limbo when it comes to their upcoming nuptials.

‘We’re kind of in a holding pattern right now,’ Vonn told People recently.

‘With COVID, it just feels like there’s no good option, you know? I don’t have a timeline or a plan, we’re just kind of going to wait and see.

‘Obviously, his family is in Canada, so I can’t physically get to Canada and they can’t get here,’ the star skier added. ‘It’ll happen eventually, we just don’t know when.’

‘Neither of us are really worried about when we’re going to get married,’ Vonn commented. ‘We know it’s gonna happen, so we’re not in a rush about it.’
