Selena Gomez reveals the 2020 election will be her first time voting as she declares ‘my vote counts’

Selena Gomez has revealed 2020 will be her first time voting.

‘Honestly, I’m not ashamed to say this, but… I’m kind of… This was my first time,’ the actress/singer, 28, said during a virtual Voting Power Hour event.

Selena also explained why she feels her vote matters now more than ever.

First timer: Selena Gomez revealed that 2020 will be her first time voting during an appearance on Voting Power Hour

Honestly opening up about how she overcome thinking her vote didn’t matter, she said: ‘I’m going to say that, because I’ve never felt — and this is so true, and I’m now admitting it to people — like my vote counts. Every vote counts. Some people get in their head, and they’re like, “Oh, well what does it matter?”‘

‘My main focus has been this right now,’ Selena continued, talking about getting out the vote.

‘You can tell on my social media and everything, obviously, I’m super invested in this right now. It’s been good. I feel hopeful.’

She did not, however, endorse a candidate.
