‘I’m bouncing back!’ Channel 10 star Becky Branca reveals she’s now a tradie after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down her career as a TV host
Her television career was reaching new heights after she landed a show on Channel 10 titled Behind the Sash.
But Becky Branca has put her showbusiness dreams on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic, and is instead working in construction.
In a video shared to TikTok on Thursday, she sported high-vis workwear and told her followers: ‘I was a TV host and international flight attendant. Now that’s gone thanks to corona… but I’m bouncing back!’
Career move! On Thursday, Melbourne-based TV star Becky Branca (pictured) revealed she’s had to put her showbiz lifestyle on hold during the crippling COVID-19 pandemic, and has instead opted for a career in construction
The former Miss Australia Globe 2014 then mouthed the lyrics ‘I’ve got a new life, you would hardly recognise me’ as she showed off her tools and tradie get-up.
She still looked stunning, however, sporting a full face of makeup and styling her hair in gorgeous, glossy pigtails.
Before the pandemic, Becky was working hard on the docuseries Behind the Sash alongside three other women: Danielle McAlpine Johnson, Jyselle Des Forges and Sofia Gilinas.
Big change: Sharing a video of herself sporting a high-vis tradie T-shirt, she wrote: ‘I was a TV host and international flight attendant. Now that’s gone thanks to Corona… but I’m bouncing back!’
Influencing: Prior to the pandemic, Becky (pictured) would travel the world to film a Channel Ten docuseries titled ‘Behind The Sash’
For each episode, the team would travel to different locations and ‘shine a light on one issue of injustice and discover one extraordinary woman taking a stand’.
Becky is also a vegan food creator, a blogger, flight attendant and mother of two.
At the start of October, Becky shared with her 110,000 Instagram followers how ‘difficult’ she was finding lockdown, after Melbourne shut down for months during the peak of the pandemic.
‘Like many of us, I have spent almost six months in quarantine with my little ones,’ she wrote.
Stunner: Alongside her TV career, Becky is also a vegan food creator, a blogger and a proud mum-of-two
‘I miss my old life! I loved my jobs, always traveling overseas, I miss my only alone time I had hanging out with my friends on my overnights in LA and our incredible, spontaneous adventures.’
She added: ‘But in the meantime, I’m here, living mindfully with my children, more aware that my “mommy” years are limited. This time I’ve had with them at home all to myself is precious.
‘Yes these are hard times, but there are little blessings in the lessons if you dare to look.’
