Dannii Minogue is spotted for the first time in Melbourne with mother Carol after avoiding hotel quarantine in July

She just celebrated her 49th birthday and marked the special occasion with a short clip of herself dancing to one of her biggest hits, This Is It.

And on Thursday, Dannii Minogue was spotted for the first time in Melbourne since avoiding hotel quarantine after returning to Australia in July.

The brunette beauty, who has been in lockdown with the rest of the Victorian capital, cut a casual figure while strolling along with her mum, Carol.

The All I Wanna Do singer donned a red checked shirt for the outing underneath a black puffer vest. Her blue jeans were rolled up to expose a glimpse of her ankles.

Dannii’s caramel-hued locks were worn loose and she appeared to be make-up free for the outing.

She completed her look with a floral face mask, reflective sunglasses and trainers to kick about in.

The busy mum-on-the-go was also carrying a black handbag and a pink water bottle.

Meanwhile, Dannii’s mother Carol looked effortlessly chic in a short-sleeve classic black shirt.

Her appearance comes after Dannii avoided hotel quarantine when she flew into Queensland from the United States in July.

The So Under Pressure hitmaker and her 10-year-old son, Ethan, were reportedly granted an exemption on medical grounds and are quarantining at a private property on the Gold Coast.

Some of the public claimed it was ‘ridiculous and unfair’ at the time, as others were forced to pay a $2,800 hotel quarantine bill upon their return to Australia.

‘Absolutely ridiculous! Dannii Minogue you are not above the law! @ScottMorrisonMP how do you let this happen?’ one outraged citizen tweeted at the time.

Another wrote: ‘This is wrong… Dannii Minogue should have been put in hotel quarantine just like everyone else who comes to Australia is.’

‘I love you dearly but think you should not have been given an exemption. Reeks of privilege and favouritism,’ a third commented.
