Ron Perlman is asking that a judge assist him in granting single status form his wife of 38 years so he can marry his younger fiancee.
The 70-year-old Hellboy actor filed legal documents requesting a bifurcation of his divorce from longtime partner Opal Stone according to a Friday report from TMZ.
If approved both parties would receive single status with the rest of the issues centered around the divorce being worked out later.

In the documents obtained by TMZ, Perlman said: ‘I believe terminating the marriage as soon as legally possible would be in our best interests in that it would reduce the emotional strain and pressure I have personally observed in both [Opal Stone Perlman] and myself, and it would allow me to move forward with my life.’

The Sons Of Anarchy star says the issues around spousal support, division of property, and other assets can be sorted out later and that he would just like to be single for now.

This comes a few months after Opal Stone cited irreconcilable differences for the end of the marriage, according to People in July, and is requesting spousal support and attorney fees from the Sons of Anarchy star back.
