‘She was so charming and sweet natured’: Footballers’ Wives stars Susie Amy and Cristian Solimeno reminisce about Tara Palmer-Tomkinson’s cameo on the hit show

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was found dead aged 45 at her London home in 2017, and it was later revealed she had died from a perforated ulcer and peritonitis.

And on Friday, Footballers’ Wives stars Susie Amy, 39, and Cristian Solimeno, 45, took to Instagram to reminisce about the English socialite’s cameo on the hit ITV show back in 2003.

Susie (who played Chardonnay Lane-Pascoe) shared a throwback snap of herself and Gary Lucy, 38, (who played Kyle Pascoe) standing alongside Tara, on set during the filming of the dramatic episode in which she appeared.

Susie captioned the photograph: ‘I love what my phone throws up for me each day. The three of us at Tanya and Jason Turner’s car crash renewal.’

Cristian – who played Jason Turner – commented on the snap: ‘What a day that was!  And Tara was so charming and sweet natured and fun, wasn’t she?’

Susie also uploaded the shot to her Instagram stories, tagging Gary Lucy and writing: ‘Sweet memories.’

Tara rose to fame in the 1990s as a hard-partying ‘It girl’ and was a regular on the London party scene.

The socialite frequently hit the headlines with her extravagant lifestyle and revealing outfits.

Tara had a well-documented battle with cocaine, spending up to £400 a day at the height of her addiction. She nearly died from an overdose and needed septum reconstruction surgery.

Tara appeared on numerous reality TV shows, coming second to Tony Blackburn on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2002.

However, in the years before her death, she became a virtual recluse as result of her drug addiction and a nervous breakdown.

Tara never married, but had relationships with a number of high-profile businessmen and pop stars, including Duran Duran keyboardist Nick Rhodes.

After last year’s inquest into Tara’s death, her sister Santa Montefiore took to Twitter to reveal she’d died from natural causes – and ‘was not in a dark place as some have disappointingly sought to suggest’.

She wrote: ‘Today the Coroner’s report states that Tara died of natural causes – a perforated ulcer. She did not have a brain tumour.

‘Tara’s good friends & family know that she was in high spirits in her last days. She had plans, trips & had written a moving new song.’

Following the news of her sudden death in 2017, her close friends the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were among the first to pay tribute.

Charles and Camilla said they were ‘deeply saddened and our thoughts are so much with the family’.
