She’s the Geelong Cats WAG who has spent over three months away in Queensland with her family in the AFL coronavirus hub.

But on Friday, Tom Hawkins’ wife Emma was hilariously mocked online in what was meant to be a sweet post about her family returning home to Victoria – as she referred to Queensland as a foreign country in her caption.

Beside a photo of her family masked up in the airport, Emma, 31, said: ‘From six weeks without dad to 3.5 months living abroad together in our two little rooms in stage three hub restrictions – what a wild ride we have had as family.’

Fans were quick to point out her error, with lashings of comments saying ‘abroad?!’ becoming visible on her feed.

Instagram account celeb_spellcheck even wrote: ‘Queensland may as well be another country at this stage!’

But luckily Emma saw the funny side of it, replying: ‘Damn it! I thought I had corrected it in time. I’ve lost my mind living interstate!’

Emma met her husband Tom in high school, with the youngsters officially sparking romance in year 12.

‘Everyone is having a different journey through covid and it’s all relative to our own experiences where our perceptions and needs are completely different,’ she added.

‘We certainly won’t be forgetting these past 9 months. It’s made as stronger as a family and more in love than ever. So proud of our babies.
