  • Girl stabbed in arm on St Paul’s Road as she walked to school at 8.20am Friday 
  • On Wednesday at 8.50am, 15-year-old girl stabbed in the leg on Moffat Road 
  • Police believe incidents are connected though the girls don’t know each other
  • Neither girl suffered life-threatening injuries in the stabbing assaults 
  • Footage shows a male suspect jogging away from the scene of Friday’s attack 

Police have released footage of a suspect accused of stabbing two 15-year-old girls in separate attacks as they walked to school in Croydon.

Officers rushed to reports of a girl who had been stabbed in the arm on St Paul’s Road in the south London borough just after 8.20am on Friday morning.

Paramedics treated her at the scene before she was taken to hospital but fortunately her injuries were not life-threatening.

It comes just two days after another 15-year-old girl was stabbed in the leg on Moffat Road, just 450 yards away from the latest attack, which detectives are treating as a connected incident.

She was also able to escape without life-threatening injuries when she was stabbed at 8.50am.

The police said the victims are not known to each other and attend different schools.

Footage of a suspect jogging away from the scene of Friday’s attack has been released by Metropolitan Police.

Detective Inspector David Adams of South Area Command said: ‘These attacks are almost identical in nature and I am confident that they are linked.

‘I have taken the decision to release a clip that was captured by a witness to the second incident and appeal for the community to tell us who this individual is.

‘We are doing everything they can to identify and apprehend this suspect and enhanced patrols are being conducted in the area at the start and end of the school day.

‘Please do contact police or speak with officers on patrol if you have concerns or information.’
