She told fans: ‘Another bloody scare tonight my darlings… Not felt our little man kick properly for 48 hours but everything was fine… He’s just been quiet. Thank god. Better to be safe than sorry.’

Charlotte’s fears came after she was told by doctors she was suffering from pregnancy diabetes, which usually disappears after giving birth.

The reality star, whose famous father, the late comedian Les Dawson also suffered from diabetes, told followers in an Instagram post that she now had to take insulin injections four times a day for the duration of her pregnancy.

She said: ‘My darlings I had a little mini scare… I’ve had such a smooth run pregnancy thought it was too good to be true… well apart from being soooo drained & tired. Well this explains why I have been!!

Charlotte who talks regularly on social media about for her love of fast food and sweet treats also told critics she had been on a healthier diet following her pregnancy news.

But she admitted a change of regime would be difficult, adding: ‘I know people will be like.. “well your diet is horrendous you live off chips & gravehhh”.. yes my diet isn’t the best, but I have been trying!

‘With my homemade soups smoothies etc but my nurse said it’s not bad diet that brings it on, but I have to cut junk out now. Which is terrifying but anything for my baby boyo.. I’m just scared.

‘I have no other words, petrified of needles.. having to jab myself 4 times a day is sooo scary.’

Charlotte, who also revealed her mum had a diabetes scare but managed to cut down on sweet treats like cakes, added: ‘Matthew and I were so upset, we thought the worst.. as long as our little man is ok!

‘Some people may think it’s nothing but did upset me… I went to hospital today & they were so lovely, said it’s the pregnancy diabetes but I have to be so careful because I could end up with it full time quite bad…

‘My dad had it so thought that might have something to do with it!! Anyway story time has been a bit emotional tonight my darlings… love you all happy chuffin Friday.’

Charlotte said she now had to be extra careful and referring to her fiancé, English rugby league footballer Matthew Sarsfield, said she now had a ‘sergeant major’ helping her.

‘I was so scared not feeling him kick and moving, I thought, “am I overreacting going?” But it’s not, it’s so serious but turns out he is completely fine.. thanks to going to the hospital.

‘If any of my other prego birds are feeling the same please go get checked and nothing better than putting your mind at rest.’
