Two people are killed as helicopters from the same pilot school crash in mid-air in Kuala Lumpur – as two survivors include former Malaysia Airlines CEO

A pair of helicopters from the same pilot school have collided in Malaysia during a training flight, killing two people. 

Three men and one woman were on board during the crash, but authorities have not confirmed the identities of those killed.

Amateur video showed one helicopter falling into a wooded part of Kuala Lumpur as onlookers screamed.

The other managed to make an emergency landing in a nearby school field.

One of the survivors was named as former Malaysia Airlines group chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Jauhari Yahya. 

The transport ministry said both helicopters had taken off Subang Airport for a regular training session.

‘Tragically… two crew members had perished in the crash,’ Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong said in a statement.

The Air Accident Investigation Bureau is investigating the crash. 

The helicopter’s wreckage is being dismantled and will then be transported to an investigation facility.
