Jacqueline Jossa admits clothes sizes ‘don’t mean anything’ to her

Jacqueline Jossa has insisted that dress sizes ‘don’t mean anything’ to her after blasting a story for branding a 12 as ‘plus-size.’

The former EastEnders star, 28, confessed she never pays attention to the size of her clothes as she likes to go bigger on some items for ‘a bit of movement.’

In July Jacqueline took to social media in July to blast the high street clothing brand Zara for their ‘offensive’ sizing, claiming that being forced to wear an ‘extra large’ caused her to have a ‘mental breakdown.’

Speaking out: Jacqueline Jossa, 28, has insisted that dress sizes ‘don’t mean anything’ to her after blasting a story for branding a 12 as ‘plus-size’

Jacqueline told Lorraine Kelly on Friday she no longer listens to the sizing on clothes as it can vary so much from shop to shop.

She said: ‘It’s a weird one, isn’t it? I am not really offended by plus size, I just don’t really know why it has to be addressed.

‘I just think it’s not really fair for people who are a size 14, 16, 18, living their best lives, that they start then comparing to a size 12 body thinking, ”but if that’s plus size then what am I?” It’s just so ridiculous.

‘Two different size 12s could be a massive difference in actual weight, different in height…It just doesn’t mean anything. I always like to go a bit bigger in jeans because I like a bit of room.’

In July Jacqueline took to social media to furiously blast the clothing brand Zara after struggling to fit into a size 12 pair of shorts.

Speaking to fans on Instagram Stories, she said: ‘Loads of people asked me about my Zara haul because I went shopping the other night.

‘To be honest, I had a mental breakdown yesterday basically because the sizing in Zara is offensive. Just not having it really. So I had to take a whole load of stuff back.

She added: ‘I was shocked when I got home yesterday honestly. I’m a size 12 and the large wouldn’t fit me from Zara.

‘I had to get the extra large which is not a problem but you know people who are over a size 14, size 16, size 18, do they just not shop in Zara?

‘I didn’t know that, I wasn’t aware of that and I haven’t shopped in Zara for years. So I kind of remember why I don’t shop in there anymore.

‘But you should have seen me yesterday trying to squeeze into a pair of shorts and stuff. Should have filmed it but it wasn’t a pretty sight.’

Jacqueline was a guest on Lorraine’s show ahead of her West End debut in A Christmas Carol this December, explaining that the socially-distanced audience will be a blessing in disguise as it’s help her to control her nerves.

She said: ‘For me this is probably a perfect debut, less people, less nerves, hopefully I will be better.

‘It’s almost a little bit of a pinch me moment. I am terrified but it’s going to be fine… it’s a perfect way to finish the year I think.’

After being crowned Queen of the Jungle last year, Jacqueline also reflected on her time in the show, which she branded one of the best experiences she’d had in her life.

The star also confirmed she’d be travelling to Wales next month to crown this year’s winner, but turned down a chance to head back into the camp due to work commitments.
