Liam Hemsworth has been moving on from his marriage to ex-wife Miley Cyrus, since their divorce was finalized earlier this year.

And the Australian actor has recently closed another chapter in his former relationship with the Plastic Hearts artist.

He recently unloaded the Malibu estate where he lived with Cyrus for $3.6million, after the home was destroyed in the 2018 Woolsey Fire, which burned 96,949 acres and devastated 1,643 structures in Southern California.

They announced the home had burned down on Instagram, posting a photo of some decorative stone letters that read ‘LOVE’ lying on top of the rubble.

He wrote: ‘It’s been a heartbreaking few days. This is what’s left of my house. Love. Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires.

‘I spent the day in Malibu yesterday and it was amazing to see the community pulling together to help each other out in any way they can. Malibu is a strong community and this event is only going to make it stronger.

‘Thankful for the all the great local guys that helped keep smaller fires out around my property. I love u guys. I love you Malibu. Thank you to all the hero firefighters around California. It’s going to be a journey to rebuild. Stay strong all.’

It came as they made a joint $500,000 donation to The Malibu Foundation through Cyrus’ Happy Hippie Foundation.

Although the Isn’t It Romantic actor never rebuilt, permits for new construction were obtained within the past two years, according to Variety.

Cyrus, 27, wrote her 2017 single Malibu from her sixth studio album Younger Now about living with Hemsworth and building their life together.

She reportedly moved in with him in January of 2016, amid their on-again, off-again engagement, after he proposed in June of 2012.

The former Disney Channel star also bought the small house next door in February of 2016, which was sold earlier this year at a loss after it miraculously survived the wildfires.

She and Hemsworth were previously in an on-again, off-again relationship, which began in June of 2009, while filming their Nicholas Sparks film The Last Song, in which they shared on onscreen romance.

The couple got married at her home in Nashville back in December of 2018, one month after losing the Malibu home.

Hemsworth told GQ Australia the following May: ‘I was 18 when I met Miley. We really fell in love quickly and had a really strong connection from the beginning and I think in the back of my head I knew it was on the cards, but we weren’t planning to have a wedding anytime soon.

‘Then just going through something this emotional with someone, it brings you closer and we felt like we’d lost a big part of our lives, so we wanted to make a new part of our lives. It was something really good coming out of a horrible situation. It was going to happen eventually, but I think this just sped it up a little bit.’

Cyrus previously expressed that sentiment to Vanity Fair that February: ‘When you experience what we experienced together with someone, it is like glue. You’re the only two people in the world who can understand.’

They announced their separation last August, filing for divorce over ‘irreconcilable differences’ 11 days later, and finalizing the proceedings in January.

Hemsworth since purchased a $4.25million ranch-style estate last November in Byron Bay, Australia, and Cyrus bought a $4.95million home in the Hollywood Hills in July.
