Filming has officially wrapped on Line Of Duty’s sixth season in Northern Ireland on Monday, the BBC revealed on Tuesday.

And to celebrate the good news a first look at Kelly Macdonald’s guest character Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson was also revealed by the channel.

The actress, 44, is set to portray the senior investigating officer in an unsolved murder case in the new season, who comes to the attention of AC-12 after she starts using some unconventional methods.

Transforming into the gritty character, Kelly wore a chic grey chequered suit over a black turtleneck jumper for a chic look.

While in a second picture Kelly teamed a dark blue suit jacket and trousers with a mustard yellow jumper as she posed in a police precinct.

Production on the drama came to an end after filming resumed in August, following delays on the drama amid the coronavirus crisis.

Showrunner Jed Mercurio said of wrapping on the new series: ‘Thanks so much to our brilliant cast and crew who applied rigorous COVID safety measures to deliver Line of Duty 6 to our wonderful fans.
