Malin Andersson shares snap of domestic abuse injuries as she urges fans to sign a petition

Malin Andersson has shared a snap of her bleeding nose after being abused by her ex-boyfriend Tom Kemp as she urged fans to sign a petition to abolish time limits on domestic violence charges.

The Love Island star, 28, re-posted the snap of her face as she pleaded with her followers to support the cause, in the hope it will encourage other victims of abuse to speak out.

Malin’s ex Tom was jailed for 10 months in September after being convicted of assaulting following a campaign of physical and mental abuse.

Malin, who previously posted the image of her nose when she shared images of her injuries after Tom’s conviction, penned a lengthy caption explaining the petition was started by the charity Victims Too.

The petition demands the government abolish the time limits on charges such as Common Assault, as Domestic Violence is not listed as a specific Criminal Offence.

Suspects are investigated for a series of other relating criminal offences such as, Harassment, Common Assault and Actual Bodily Harm, some of which have a six-month statutory time limit to report to police.

Malin urged fans to sign the petition adding that Domestic Violence had become a ‘serious ongoing offence’ in households as families spend more time at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The star has spoken openly about being abused by her ex Tom, and previously shared a snap of her injuries after he was sentenced to 10 months in prison.

Uploading a photo of her bruised neck, Malin, 27, defiantly captioned the snap: ‘JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED!’

She went on: ‘The last 2 years including my pregnancy have been absolute hell. No one knows half of what I’ve gone through and I haven’t been able to say much due to an ongoing police investigation.

‘The father of my late daughter Consy has been jailed for only part of what he has done to me.

‘I’ll be giving my account of what happened in the coming week. Thankyou for those that supported me, and those that called me a LIAR. I am here to tell you – YOU CAN GO TO THE POLICE!’

She had previously said she was ‘relieved’ after her ex-boyfriend was jailed for assaulting her following a campaign of physical and mental abuse.

Kemp was jailed at Aylesbury Crown Court on Thursday after leaving Malin with broken bones and bruises in a violent tirade.

He was jailed for ten months after admitting the attack, which broke Malin’s hand, despite previously branding her ‘a liar’.

Malin accused ‘narcissistic’ Kemp of being abusive in Instagram posts last year.

Malin and Kemp had an on-off romance, splitting briefly during her pregnancy, amid claims Kemp had been unfaithful to her, but reconciling shortly before the birth.

Their baby daughter Consy was born seven weeks premature in December 2018 and was being treated at Great Ormond Street hospital, but sadly passed away aged four weeks on 22 January, 2019.

In March they split again, with Malin admitting it was better to end things between them as she and her partner struggled with their grief.

In June last year, Malin posted a lengthy Instagram post, captioned: ‘The third and final lot, I am NOT a victim anymore.’

Calling their romance ‘toxic and unhealthy’, she said ‘it has been an ongoing battle to emotionally let go as dealing with the grief from both my mum and daughter I’ve had him as my comforter.’
