Outspoken Today show host Karl Stefanovic hilariously impersonated English musician Gary Barlow’s accent on Friday morning.

The Take That star, 49, was interviewed by entertainment reporter Brooke Boney about his new album, Music Played By Humans, via Zoom from his home in London.

After the segment, the camera cut to a smiling Karl, who did his best impression of Gary’s Mancunian accent, saying: ‘He does sound like Ringo, doesn’t he?’

Karl then told a hilarious anecdote about being a Take That super-fan as a youngster, saying: ‘I used to love Take That when I was in year 12.

‘That used to be the place, the nightclub, with Take That on…’

‘What would happen?’ his co-host Allison Langdon asked, to which he responded: ‘Pash city!’

Allison screwed up her nose in horror, saying: ‘You know what? I should have known.’

During his interview, Gary spoke out about how much he misses playing to audiences of thousands – before hinting at a tour of Australia when it’s safe to do so.

‘They will be the best audiences we have ever played to.’

When asked if he planned to return Down Under, he added: ‘As soon as the doors are open, I’ll be in!’
