Ryan Reynolds jokingly rebuffs effort to have a street named after him in his hometown of Vancouver

Ryan Reynolds jokingly rebuffs the effort to have a street named after him in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada: ‘If traffic sucks everyone will say, “Ryan Reynolds is a mess”‘

A push to have a street named after Ryan Reynolds in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada has hit a bump in the road.

The hosts and producer of The Kevin and Sonia Show With Tara Jean on 104.9 KiSS radio in Vancouver recently launched a petition, declaring the Deadpool actor ‘Vancouver’s favorite son’ who ‘deserves to have a street named after him (or at least a lane).’

But it was Ryan Reynolds himself who has shot down the effort in a hilarious response

Using a charming dose of his infectious, self-deprecating humor, the husband of Blake Lively tweeted: ‘Very kind but hard pass.’

Thanks, but no thanks: Ryan Reynolds jokingly rebuffed the push to have a street named after him in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada

‘If traffic sucks everyone will say, “Ryan Reynolds is a mess” or “Ryan Reynolds is really backed up.”‘

He added, ‘My brothers would enjoy this too much.’

If Vancouver Mayor Kennedy Stewart took action on the effort, the 44-year-old actor has three brothers — Jeff, Patrick and Terry — who would be able to torture him with playful good humor.

Despite the rebuff, radio host Kevin Lim, who helped launch the petition, has given up on the effort just yet.

‘OMG @VancityReynolds responded to our petition to name a street after him in Vancouver!!!’ Lim tweeted.

‘Should we keep it going? Even if it’s just so his brothers can make fun of him?’
