Brian Austin Green spoke highly of his estranged wife Megan Fox even after their secret separation

Brian Austin Green said he got his ‘self-worth’ from his estranged wife Megan Fox in a podcast recorded after their secret separation earlier this year

He’s facing an impending divorce, after being separated for nearly a year.

And on Saturday, a newly published podcast episode revealed that Brian Austin Green still thought quite fondly of his estranged wife Megan Fox, even after the pair had secretly separated late in 2019.

The conversation came up during the pilot episode of Apple podcast Ever After with Jaleel White, the former television actor of Urkel fame.

In the podcast, 90210 star Green, 47, discussed where he gets his ‘sense of self-worth.’

‘I don’t get my sense of self-worth from work. I don’t get it from being on set, I don’t get it from those people. I get it when I got home and I see my wife and I see my kids,’ Brian said in the episode, which was recorded prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

He continued, ‘When I’m laying in a hospital bed and they’re around me, that’s what’s gonna mean something to me. Not the jobs I’ve done or who I worked with… That’s not going to matter.

‘That lives forever on film, but that’s just one aspect. That’s not me. That’s what I did. That was my job,’ he added.

Green continued to make references to his ‘wife’ in the podcast, likening their changing parenting styles to sports strategy.

‘My wife and I, we got really good at man-to-man,’ he said. ‘Then you have three and all of a sudden you have to play zone. “OK, I’ll cover [this] half of the room, you cover that half.” Then if a kid steps in our zone, then we’ve got it covered.’

The pair are parents to three boys – Noah Shannon, eight, Bodhi Ransom, six, and Journey River, four.

While the former couple have been separated since November 2019, they publicly announced their split this May, after Fox was photographed with new beau and Midnight In The Switchgrass costar Machine Gun Kelly.

And just last month, Megan officially filed for divorce from Brian, around the same time she made her red carpet debut with Colson Baker, aka MGK.

The 34-year-old Transformers actress previously filed for divorce from Green in 2015, but they ultimately mended fences.

But this time around, on the same day that Megan made her initial divorce filing in Los Angeles County Court in November, Brian submitted his response.

Brian and Megan have been married since 2010, and were together from 2005 on.
