Anderson Cooper plays babysitter as he entertains Andy Cohen’s son Benjamin with ‘Clappy’ the monkey

Andy Cohen can always count on good pal Anderson Cooper to let loose for some good kid-friendly fun.

On Sunday the 52-year-old Bravo host shared a sweet video of Cooper, 53, who clapped along with Cohen’s one-year-old son Benjamin to a singing musical monkey named ‘Clappy.’

Cohen shared that he and the longtime CNN host were spending ‘A LOT’ of time with the toy before playfully teasing, ‘AC and I have some issues with Clappy that we can get into at a later date.’

The clap: Anderson Cooper, 53, entertains Andy Cohen’s son Benjamin with a singing monkey named ‘Clappy’ before Andy mentions the longtime pals have ‘some issues’ with the toy

Singing along to If You’re Happy And You Know It in Andy’s NYC apartment, Cooper put on an animated display while entertaining the sweet tot in a pair of overalls who was fixated on the toy.

Echoing the lyrics ‘make a smile,’ in a series of funny high pitched voices, Anderson made Andy audibly laugh in the background, as he provided commentary on the video in true Cohen form.

Cooper continued to lead by example as he clapped and while Benjamin tried to mimic the toy, looking every bit a doting babysitter while encouraging the tot’s participation.

Highly amused: Almost more into the funny display, Cohen could not contain his commentary as he chuckled at Cooper flexing his paternal side

Back on?: The longtime friends have been rumored to have been romantically involved at one point in 2016 after being set up on a blind date, though both denied dating each other

After a bit the toddler seemed to grow bored with Clappy and walked away, leaving Anderson in a staring match with the toy.

‘It’s you and Clappy, Anderson, it’s just you and Clappy,’ Cohen chuckled after the toddler grew bored with the toy and walked away leaving Cooper in a staring match with the toy.

The toddler seemed to want to go again for another round as Cooper grew disgruntled with the toy after what could be assumed as many round of hearing the song.

On the second go, Cooper continued to sing all the lyrics as he frustratedly looked at the toy and said, ‘Clap clap clap your hands, clap your tiny hands.’

Cohen captioned the video, ‘Spending A LOT of time with Clappy this morning. (AC and I have some issues with Clappy that we can get into at a later date…).’

Comments on the video were quick to flood in as Andy’s show Watch What Happens Live said, ‘The vocals! Anderson needs to collab with The Countess!,’ referring to Real Housewife Luann de Lesseps who has launched a cabaret show and singing career.

Viral quarantine sensation and character actor Leslie Jordan wrote, ‘I love this. Miss you all.’

No stranger to parent life Anderson has a son of his own, Wyatt Morgan who he had on April 27th via surrogate as he gushed upon welcoming his son, ‘As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child.’

Both Cohen and Cooper’s respective children have won the award for People’s ‘Cutest Baby Alive’ with Benjamin taking home the honor in 2019 and Wyatt snagging the honor in 2020.

Cooper and Cohen have been linked as both friends and a former romantic item since 2016, though they have both shut down rumors there is anything more than a friendship much to their fans’ dismay.

‘Andy and I were first set up on a blind date, which never happened because we had a phone call and after two minutes I said, ‘I’m not dating this guy,’ he shared on an episode of WWHL.
