‘Schoolboy’ is found dead in quiet Lincolnshire village as boy, 14, and man, 19, are arrested for murder – after police ‘originally thought victim was in his 30s’

  • The victim was discovered in Fishtoft, Lincolnshire, at around 10.22am yesterday
  • Age of victim hasn’t been released and two teenagers are being held in custody 
  • Police asking anyone with CCTV footage from Friday 11 at 8pm to get in touch 

A ‘schoolboy’ has been found dead in a quiet village in Lincolnshire as two teenagers are arrested for murder – after police thought victim was in his 30s. 

The victim, whose age hasn’t been released, was discovered on a common in Fishtoft, Lincolnshire, are around 10.22am yesterday. 

A 14-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in custody while the police carry out enquiries.

Police originally believed the teen was aged in his 30s but confirmed today he is secondary school age.  

They are now asking for anyone with CCTV covering the area between 8pm on Friday 11 and 10.22am on Saturday 12 to get in touch.   

They are hoping for footage covering the junction of Freiston Road and Woodthorpe Avenue, and Wing Drive and Alcorn Green.

Detective Superintendent Martyn Parker said that the incident was ‘devastating’, adding: ‘The impact will no doubt be felt greatly in the community and beyond.

‘This type of incident is not what we would expect to see within our communities. We are working with those affected to keep them informed and offer our support.

‘I want to reassure the public that we will do all in our power to meticulously investigate the circumstances of this young boy’s death and we would urge anyone who has any information that could support this investigation to get in touch.’
