Steve Jacobs RETURNS to Today to present the weather – but he won’t be there for long

Can’t keep him away! Steve Jacobs RETURNS to Today to present the weather just a year after leaving – but he won’t be there for long

He departed Nine’s Today show in December 2019 to dedicate more time to his two daughters.

But Steve Jacobs has now announced he’s making a shock return to his old job as Today’s weather presenter during the Christmas season.

The role however will not be a permanent stint, as the 53-year-old will only be back on screens for one week only.

‘Merry Xmas and I’m excited to announce that I will be back on the Today Show this week presenting the weather for one week only,’ the father-of-two announced on Instagram on Sunday.

‘Tune in it should be fun,’ he promised, accompanying the post with a picture of himself posing with his daughters Isabella, eight, Francesca, seven, and a socially-distanced Santa Claus.

Steve first started working as on Today an on-location weather presenter in 2005.

He famously quit the show in 2016 to work on his marriage, before returning to the network in 2017 as a weather presenter on Weekend Today.

Steve then rejoined the main Today show for its 2019 relaunch with Deborah Knight and Georgie Gardner.

In December that year, the affable presenter shocked fans by revealing on Instagram that he’d decided to quit for good.
