The Bachelorette host Chris Harrison revealed why the After the Final Rose special did not air following the 16th season finale on Tuesday night.
The 49-year-old Daytime Emmy nominee tweeted: ‘Due to being pushed into the holidays and the difficulty of bringing people safely together during this time it just wasn’t possible.’
However, Chris added ‘hopefully we’ll be back’ on January 4 for the 25th season premiere of The Bachelor, which features the first African-American lead Matt James.

Audiences watched Tuesday as addiction specialist Zac Clark proposed to phlebotomist-turned-influencer Tayshia Adams with a 3.25-carat emerald-cut Neil Lane engagement ring.
‘There was one point in my life where I thought I would never get married because of all of the pain and the heartbreak that I’ve been through,’ the 30-year-old Bachelor #23 alum – who’s divorced – said.
‘I hit absolute rock bottom and I know that I told you that I love you but, sorry, it’s more than that. It’s this wild, wild love that I have tried to come up with so many reasons to not believe, and you have truly just made me believe that there doesn’t need to be flaws and that I deserve a love with a man that won’t run away.’
Adams tuned into the finale at her California home alongside her 36-year-old fiancé, and the couple plan on moving to New York.
