Along with the words ‘Grenfell’ on the wall behind the tracks, commuters spotted the words ‘COVID lies’ sprayed on the Victoria line platform.

The Grenfell Tower block went on fire in June 2017 killing 72 residents and leaving many others homeless.

The video shows messages spray painted on the walls in the station including one that says: ‘Oi!! Muppets. What if it was your ‘houses’ that burnt down. All power to the people.’

The M, P and S in ‘muppets’ was also circled to spell out ‘MPs’ – referring to Members of Parliament – to get a political message across.

They also tagged the platform with the anarchy symbols and the word ‘Sasquatch’ which covers a large section of the wall on the Bakerloo line.

The vandalism would normally have been impossible because the station would normally have been packed with shoppers heading to the Boxing Day sales.

However, Tier 4 restrictions in the capital meant shops were closed and the tube station was deserted.

However, the footage of the graffiti has been met with mixed reviews from social media users.

A large number of people have been condemning the artwork, saying it does not help get political messages across.
