NRL star Benji Marshall and his pregnant wife Zoe at Sydney’s Luna Park

NRL glamour couple Benji and Zoe Marshall announced this month that they’re expecting their second child, a year after she suffered a devastating miscarriage.

On Saturday, the doting parents took their two-year-old son Benjamin Fox to Sydney’s Luna Park for the very first time.

Benji, 35, carried little Benjamin on top of his shoulders, while Zoe, 36, kept a close eye on her brood.

The sportsman drew attention to his lean frame in a burgundy T-shirt and grey shorts, which he teamed with matching socks and pristine white sneakers.

Benji accessorised further with trendy sunglasses and a backpack, and held onto Benjamin’s legs as he carried him on his shoulders throughout the amusement park.

Little Benjamin looked cute as a button in a pink polo shirt, khaki shirts and sneakers, as well as an adorable Elmo-themed red cap.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, TV presenter Zoe announced they are set to welcome their second child in June 2021.

She shared a sonogram photo alongside a recording from her podcast in which she described being ‘so sick’ during the first few weeks of her pregnancy.

Zoe previously revealed in April she’d suffered a devastating miscarriage late last year.

In her Instagram post on Tuesday, she explained how Benji had asked her not to announce her pregnancy too early as the emotional impact of losing a baby in 2019 had ‘rattled him’.

‘He’s had a lot of anxiety around me sharing prematurely, which I completely understand,’ Zoe said.

‘We had a loss around this time last year. I think the impact of that on me really rattled him. He’s private in general but didn’t want me to share.’

Zoe went on to say she’d ‘been on the couch or in bed, eating chips and KFC’ during her latest pregnancy.

She added in her Instagram caption: ‘Mini Marshall due day before my birthday (god help me another Gemini) June 2021.’

In April, Zoe broke down in tears as she spoke about her devastating miscarriage late last year.

She told her Instagram followers she’d fallen pregnant just 16 months after the birth of her first son, Benjamin Fox.

The news was a shock, and she struggled with finding herself pregnant again so soon.

‘There is something really difficult and brutal and shocking about falling pregnant and not having a normal reaction by society’s standards,’ she said.

‘I thought that my reaction would potentially risk my marriage. I wasn’t sure if me not being okay with it would be okay, and I felt option-less.

‘And I felt very stuck. And very scared and anxious and depressed.’

However, her husband was supportive and ‘sat with me through all my confusion’.

‘I was so taken aback by his support and love, which was no matter what happens, or how you feel, the mental health of you – being a healthy woman and mother – is more important than anything,’ she added.

However, after warming to the idea of having another child, Zoe received tragic news at her 10-week ultrasound scan.

‘I just remember a woman saying, “There’s nothing in there.” I was just so floored and so upset. There were no signs of it. No bleeding, no pus. And I just felt so betrayed by my own body,’ she said.

Zoe then underwent a dilation and curettage procedure to have the fetus removed and said she was in so much pain her ‘whole body was shivering and convulsing’.

She married Wests Tigers star Benji at a private estate in Byron Bay in 2013.
