‘You know, I am a real comic book geek at heart so anything like a role in a Marvel or a DC [Comics] production would be the dream.

‘It’ll be good for people to see me in a different light and with a different dynamic and role too… It’s where I see my future.’

Although hoping for a superhero film, Aston also praised movies and TV shows being made in the UK saying Gangs Of London is ‘brilliant’.

The star has already had a taste of acting with him appearing in rom com Boogie Man in 2018, which was directed by his pal Andy Morahan, and also having a role on CBBC comedy Always Never.

As well as his acting dreams, Aston is hoping to be able to go on tour with JLS’s bandmates – Marvin Humes, JB Gill and Oritse Williams – in 2021 after they had to postpone it due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite the delay, Aston has revealed they’ve kept in constant contact with each other during the crisis on a WhatsApp group.

He said: ‘We’ve got our WhatsApp group that we’re always talking on… We can’t wait until the tour. It’s going to be incredible.’

While he managed to avoid the unmasking on the first episode, many fans are already confident his true identity is that of Aston.

One fan wrote on Twitter: ‘I swear this bird on masked singer is Aston from jls,’ while another viewer penned: ‘Yayyyy! The Masked Singer calling it now – Robin is one of the JLS lads #TheMaskedSinger.’

In the video preview before his performance, the star said that he has ‘trained’ and is ‘fighting fit’. The judges subsequently wondered if he could be an athlete.

Robin also posed near to Albert Square signage, giving a possible clue that he has a connection to EastEnders or London.

However new judge, Mo Gilligan believed the hint was ‘too obvious.’
