Bachelor In Paradise star Niranga Amarasinghe kicks out Jamie Doran from his Brisbane home

A bar fight has torn apart Bachelor In Paradise friends Jamie Doran and Niranga Amarasinghe.

Earlier this month, the pair got into a fiery argument after a drama-packed night out with other Bachelor franchise cast members.

An insider source told Daily Mail Australia that things went from bad to worse between the two reality stars when Niranga, 28, kicked Jamie, 40, out of his Brisbane home.

On Boxing Day, the former roommates attended a local bar where a heated disagreement allegedly broke out between some of the cast members.

It’s believed Jamie took the side of other co-stars, who were pointing out Niranga’s apparent flaws of being a ‘snitch’ and not a ‘lads’ lad’.

The source claims Niranga then changed the locks on his apartment and asked Jamie to promptly find somewhere else to live.

‘He doesn’t condone that behaviour, and told Jamie he was going against his word and told him to remove his stuff by the next morning, the insider claims.

According to Jaime and the source, there was verbal abuse, threats of violence and name-calling during the argument, but both accounts varied between who was at fault.

Jamie claims ‘Niranga was losing the argument’ and was asked to leave the venue, while the source who was present on the night alleges it was another Bachelor star who was escorted from the premises.

After being left without a permanent place to stay in Queensland, Jamie flew home this week to New South Wales.

‘I haven’t “fled” QLD, I just won’t be subjected to such behaviour. I’m actually from Sydney, and was meant to only be going to QLD on a six-week road trip. That was six months ago,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I have moved back into the place I was living before the road trip to Queensland.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Niranga Amarasinghe for comment.

Interestingly Niranga told Who magazine in July 2020 ahead of his appearance on BIP that he was hoping not to be stuck in Fiji with Jamie.

‘I just can’t deal with him at all,’ he said at the time.

In July, after his stint on BIP aired, Jamie announced his intention to take legal action against Channel 10 and Warner Bros on his Instagram page.

However, since making these claims, Jamie has only lodged official claims against Warner Bros., and not Channel 10.

‘Don’t assume that my legal case against Channel 10 and Warner Bros is built around an “edit”. It’s a lot more in-depth and there’s a lot more in play here,’ Jamie said on social media in August.

In the firefighter-turned-FIFO worker’s initial statement posted to Instagram, he explained why he had decided to call in his lawyers.

He wrote: ‘This is not the news I wanted to post, but I feel I owe this to at least my family, friends, and also fans of The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise,’ he said.

‘A “bad edit” should be the least of their problems moving forward.

‘I’m not going to comment on this any further for the time being and would appreciate it if people would respect my privacy.’

While many dismissed his legal threat at the time, Jamie did end up hiring a lawyer, and it was rumoured in September that both parties are now trying to reach some kind of settlement.
