Abbie said she’d experienced similar shaming during her appearance on The Bachelor in 2019, and admitted she regretted ‘not pushing the conversation further’ with Dipper.

‘I had a bit of trauma from The Bachelor, from being the person on the out, and it scared me a little bit that I would be the person that everyone thought was being aggressive, which is kind of selfish,’ she confessed.

She said her ‘fear of getting trolled and death threats’ after her experience on The Bachelor prompted her to keep mainly quiet.

As she walked through the show’s campsite wearing just a bikini, Dipper repeatedly told Abbie: ‘As a father, you are not going out like that.’

Fed up, Abbie finally asked him to explain what he meant by the remark, prompting Dipper to tell her it was ‘like you’re seeking attention and asking for [it]’.

‘Those words “asking for” it were quite triggering to me. It was so jarring. It was disappointing,’ she told The Daily Telegraph.
