Vanessa Hudgens hilariously repurposes High School Musical 2 meme to address Donald Trump’s Twitter ban

Vanessa Hudgens delighted social media followers after she used a High School Musical 2 meme to address Donald Trump‘s Twitter ban.

The original scene saw Vanessa’s character Gabriella Montez receiving a personalized ‘T’ necklace from her boyfriend Troy Bolton (Zac Efron).

But in light of the recent political controversy, Vanessa, 32, hilariously used the moment to address Trump’s permanent social media suspension.

‘T as in Troy?’ Gabriella asks her boyfriend as he clasps the necklace around her neck.

‘No Gabriella,’ Troy responds. ‘T as in Trump’s Twitter is suspended.’

Vanessa tagged the magazine Nylon in the photo, indicating she did not create the meme herself.

Either way, the post drew countless likes and comments from fans, praising her for throwing it back to her High School Musical days.

Twitter permanently banned Trump’s account last week, claiming in a blog post that it was due to the risk of ‘further incitement to violence’, after the president’s supporters rioted through the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

‘After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,’ the company wrote.

The account had 88.7million followers, which is nearly half of the company’s total base of monetizable daily active users.

In addition to his Twitter account, Trump’s Facebook account was also banned by the social media platform.
