Manchester Arena terrorist Hashem Abedi and Parsons Green Tube bomber Ahmed Hassan are charged with joint attack on Belmarsh prison officer

  • Hashem Abedi, 23, and Ahmed Hassan, 21, charged with assault on prison officer
  • Third man, who is awaiting sentencing for terror offences, has also been charged
  • Trio due to appear at Bromley Magistrates Court on April 7, according to the BBC

Manchester Arena terrorist Hashem Abedi and Parsons Green Tube bomber Ahmed Hassan have been charged with the joint attack on a prison officer at HMP Belmarsh.

The BBC‘s Daniele De Simone tweeted: ‘The Manchester Arena and Parsons Green bombers have been charged with assaulting a prison guard together, the BBC has learned. 

‘Hashem Abedi, 23, and Ahmed Hassan, 21, are accused of the assault in HMP Belmarsh, south London, in May last year.’

He added that Muhammed Saeed, 21, who is awaiting sentencing for terror offences, has also been charged with assaulting the prison officer.

The trio are due to appear at Bromley Magistrates Court on April 7.
