Rebekah Vardy discusses her postpartum body and her love for period pants as she launches website

Rebekah Vardy triumphantly launched her new website on Thursday, which she vowed will showcase the ‘real her.

The WAG, 38, candidly discussed her postpartum body, her love for period pants and five little-known facts about herself on the new website, via blogs and her glamorous introduction page.

The mum-of-five, who is married to footballer Jamie Vardy, first reflected on showing off her postpartum figure unedited in 2017 following the birth of her son Finley.

No holds barred: Rebekah Vardy triumphantly launched her new website on Thursday in which she candidly discussed the decision to share her postpartum body

Becky had posed alongside her son, who was then 12-weeks-old, and held him up to her as she leaned back while posing in Calvin Klein underwear.

She said: ‘I wanted to let other new Mums see how I looked as I knew I wasn’t the only one with a wobbly belly, rolls, bigger thighs and heavy boobs.

‘After these pics were published, I was approached to do a fitness DVD to show women how to shed their baby weight but I turned it down.

‘That was never what these pics were about for me. These were to make new Mum’s feel good about how they looked, these were meant to empower and inspire body confidence.

‘I wasn’t going to insult women by making them believe that they had to be thinner to be happy as I believe happiness comes from inside, not from your appearance.

The star said the majority of postpartum photos she saw were of mothers who had ‘bounced back into shape’ adding: ‘Good for them and good for you if that’s how your body works but my post partum body doesn’t work that way.

‘These are some of my favourite photos of myself. If you were one of the people who sent me lovely messages after these pics were published then thank you and to everyone else who shares a bit of reality from time to time, thank you too.’

Giving a more candid insight into her life, Becky posed up in a pair of period-proof pants by Modibodi which she revealed were ‘super-comfy’ and ideal for ice skating practice ahead of her Dancing On Ice debut.

She wrote: ‘Last year I discovered period pants and I bloody love them. I don’t mean those ugly pants we all keep for our ‘time of the month’ that are super comfy and already ruined from period leaks. I mean actual Pants. For. Your. Period.

‘At first I was nervous, I didn’t think that a pair of pants (and they really do look like a pair of totally normal pants, not a nappy, not ugly, just regular pants) would have dealt with my heaviest period and been leak fee – BUT THEY WERE! These pants really do work.

Becky revealed she had started the website to share her insights, support charities and local businesses and to give a candid insight into her life.

The star then listed five little known facts about herself, revealing she had excelled in javelin and hurdles while at school, competed for her county and was invited to trial for Great Britain aged 15.

She added: ‘ I taught myself to play the piano when I was 7 years old. I’ve never had piano lessons and I can’t read music but I can listen to music and learn it by ear. I don’t play much anymore but when I do I find it to be very therapeutic.

‘I love yoga. Other than playing piano, it is the number one thing that helps me to relax and deal with anxiety should it arise.

‘I was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness until I was thrown out of home at 15. I hated every moment of it.

‘I’m half Portuguese (my Dad is from Madeira). I’ve never visited Madeira but would love to go with my Dad one day, so he can show me his home and where he grew up.’

The website reveal comes after Becky detailed the ‘horrific’ accident that left her Dancing On Ice partner Andy Buchanan in hospital.

The mother-of-five who hates the sight of blood, revealed she ‘almost fainted’ at Andy’s gory injuries after she mistakenly sliced his face open in training.

In a new interview, Rebekah explained she felt ‘petrified’ after getting back on the ice the following day and she still feels guilty knowing the accident was her mistake.

She told MailOnline: ‘I’ve had so many falls and obviously I injured Andy that was the most horrific experience. I thought he was messing around to begin with because he does like a bit of a joke and he likes to rib me quite a bit and we were doing a move…

‘The last thing he said to me was “don’t kick me in the face” and I was like “why would you say that? You are just going to jinx us” so we did what we were doing and he nearly dropped me and I was like “oh s*** what’s happened?”

‘I looked at him and he was holding his face and I was like “stop messing about” and I laughed and then he removed his hand from his face and there was blood everywhere.

‘I hate the sight of blood. Five kids and I can’t deal with blood and I nearly passed out. It wasn’t good and I felt horrific.’

Rebekah said her partner Andy was more concerned with her reaction to his injuries and it having an impact on her confidence, instead of any damage caused to his face.

She said: ‘He was so sympathetic and more worried about me than himself and he kept staying “it wasn’t your fault” and as much as they want to say it wasn’t your fault, you totally know it was because if you did it correctly it would have never happened.

‘We have been doing this a few months and not years and years so accidents are bound to happen it’s just how you bounce back from it.

‘I was petrified. The very next day we had our show and tell in front of all the coaches and that was the first time we ran our routine in front of people and I felt so sick. I didn’t even think I could do it.’

Rebekah and Jamie, who married in 2016, have three children, Sofia, six, Finley, four, and one-year-old Olivia, as well as Taylor and Megan, from two of Becky’s previous relationships. Jamie also has a daughter with ex-Emma Daggett.

The dedicated mother admits she has missed sharing the experience with her children, who’ve been forced to miss out due the coronavirus pandemic.

Contestants this year will not perform in front of a live studio audience, meaning the star’s children will have to watch their mum take on the challenge from home, which has been difficult for Rebekah to imagine.

She said: ‘My children are so excited they are literally chomping at the bit.

‘They are gutted they can’t come and watch it live and they’ve not been able to come to many training sessions.

‘In that aspect, it makes me sad because my family is everything and having them be apart of this journey a bit more would have been amazing.

‘But they’re going to support from home and I’m sure like everyone, all our families will be rooting for us and it’s nice to know they will be watching wherever they are.’
