Krissy, who considers herself more a friendly personal trainer than an influencer, has built a close-knit community of women of all ages who cheer each other on.

Her Instagram feed is full of before-and-after pictures from grateful followers who have discovered that exercise has transformed not only their bodies, but their minds.

And for proof that anyone – of any age – can do it, look no further than Krissy’s 56-year-old mum, Mirela. She overcame cancer last year and, having been a size 10 all her life, is currently a size 16-18.

Krissy says: ‘She’s not happy so I sat her down and asked what her “why” really is – because it’s not just about losing weight.

‘She admitted she wants to go on a walk without wheezing and get her energy back. It’s the same for a lot of women: it goes far deeper than the way they look.’

As someone who has struggled with body image in the past, Krissy regularly reminds her followers that having only a physical goal is simply not sustainable.
