Jessica Simpson throws it way back with a baby photo as she wishes her mom a happy 61st birthday

Jessica Simpson has had a massive career: first she was a singer then a reality TV star and finally a fashion and accessories designer.

But on Monday the 40-year-old blonde beauty said it has been all thanks to her ‘ambitious’ mother Tina Ann Drew.

To celebrate her mom’s 61st birthday, the Dukes Of Hazzard actress took to Instagram to post an image of her mother at a young age holding baby Jessica as she praised the business-minded manager.

Good mom: Jessica Simpson celebrated her mom’s 61st birthday on Instagram with an image of her mother Tina at a young age holding baby Jessica

The image looked to be taken in the early 1980s in Texas where the family once lived.

Jessica has a lot to say about how her mom built her career.

‘Mom- Happiest birthday to the most deserving person of happy that I know and love,’ the handbag designer started her caption.

‘I applaud and celebrate you not just because I’m your baby girl, but because there is not one person on this planet that even comes close in comparison to the natural born and self taught qualities in which you whole-fully embody.

‘You are AMBITIOUS, so much so that I know there is nothing in this life that you could, or would ever let, defeat you.

‘True to never letting yourself off the hook because your determined spirit will conquer anything and everyone that gets in your way!’

‘Mom, you are the truest leader to the leader in me and to all of whom ever have crossed paths with you. You are a dominant and respected boss beast who also provides a home of compassion, love, safety, and grace. That alone is beyond rare, yet so are you. Genuinely, you are the hardest worker of all time, and I applaud your strength married by wisdom in any given circumstance.

‘As you know, I am often asked by many how OUR collection remains the top-selling celebrity brand, steadfast and still growing…the answer is simple…YOU! You follow through on every promise by action and by your faithfulness to yourself, your calling, your family, and your work. Truly remarkable indeed.

‘ I have been blessed everyday of my life to know you, love you and be loved by you. My role model for life is 61, so basically you are only 7 and I know you love 7!!! Holy Lord this is gonna be an incredible year for you and I’m proud to be by your side for it all!!!’

She ended with, ‘I love you.’

Last week Jess tackled a serious subject.

‘Growing up, my nana taught me the importance of caring for my skin. Because I have eczema, it’s really important for me, especially during sweater weather,’ began the star who broke the news in August that she has suffered from eczema since she was a child.

The frequent cover girl also wore a very large diamond ring on her right hand and a diamond eternity band on her wedding finger. Her nails were beautifully manicured.

The mother of three then said that the winter air can be a challenge.

‘The cold, dry air and certain fabrics can be tough on my skin, so I like to moisturize regularly,’ said the Public Affair singer.

‘But sometimes, eczema flares still happen, so it’s important to understand your treatment options.’

Breaking the news: In August she first talked about her struggle. In a sponsored post on her Instagram account for Eucrisa ointment, the star said: 'For the first time, I'm sharing that I've had eczema since I was a kid'

She then plugged the product EUCRISA and noted the post was a paid advertisement.

The ex-wife of Nick Lachey said she uses the product ‘to treat my mild-to-moderate eczema.’

And the wife of Eric Johnson finished off with: ‘While your experience may be different, it really works for me—in any season!’

Jessica then plugged the cream she has used to get over a recent flare-up, adding: ‘After a recent eczema flare, I decided to talk to my doctor and was prescribed EUCRISA.’

WHAT IS ECZEMA?

Eczema – known clinically as ‘atopic dermatitis’ – is a skin condition that causes the skin to become red and itchy

It often manifests in the form of inflamed, cracked, and sometimes even blistered red patches that appear on the body

It can be triggered by environmental factors (pollens, soaps fragrances) ; certain foods (i.e. dairy, nuts) and is often linked to the immune system (asthma, hay fever)

Nearly 31.6 million people in the US struggle with eczema – over 10% of the population

Symptoms can vary depending on the age of the person affected and some people outgrow it

There is currently no cure for Eczema.

In her caption, Simpson goes into details about her experience with Eczema as she endorses her new partnership with Eucrisa – a prescription ointment used to treat the skin condition.

‘Full Rx Info @eucrisa_pi. Full Safety Info below #PfizerAd.’

She added: ‘While your experience may be different, EUCRISA really works for me. That’s why I’m excited to partner with Pfizer, the makers of EUCRISA for mild-to-moderate eczema—to help inspire others with eczema to have the #EczemaConversation with their doctors like I did.

She finishes the post opening up the conversation to her fans, writing:

‘You can get involved by sharing #EczemaConversation in your own way on your social media. If you or your little one have eczema, ask your doctor if EUCRISA could be right for you.’

Simpson goes on to list the important safety information for Eucrisa and its’ parent company Pfizer on the bottom of her post.

Though, Eczema is a common skin condition that affects all ages and more than 10% of the US population – causing skin to become red and itchy – this is the first time Simpson has spoken out about having any sort of skin problems at all, detailing that she has struggled with the skin condition since she was a child.

Last year Simpson – the mother of three children, Birdie-Mae, aged one, Ace, seven, and Maxwell, eight, – was publicly candid about her struggle to lose weight, something she has now overcome after struggling for years.

She talked about her challenges in the best-selling Open Book.
