Despite discussing hard-hitting topics, including the government’s response to coronavirus and Maro Itoje’s digital divide campaign, viewers claimed they were fixated on the presenter’s stunning outfit, insisting: ‘She’s stolen the show!’

The media personality’s most recent programme came after her colleague Piers, 55, shared a sweet letter from a widowed Good Morning Britain viewer who says he gives her a ‘reason to get out of bed’ each day.

The journalist uploaded a photo of the letter from a lady called Linda, who was left ‘devastated’ and ‘alone’ following the loss of her husband at the end of 2019.

Captioning the photo of Linda’s message, the TV star penned: ‘I got this letter at work today. I’ve no idea who Linda is, or where she is from, but it really moved me.’

The touching note read: ‘Dear Piers, I am writing to a TV programme for the first time in my life and I am 75.

‘My husband died in December 2019 after 57 years together and I was left devastated and alone.

‘I can truthfully say that watching you these mornings on GMB gave me a reason to get out of bed. I love your hard hitting interviews and you have managed to make me smile now and again.

‘This has been the worst year of my life and you have been shining a light into my darkness. Thank you. Yours sincerely, Linda.’
