Holly Willoughby was moved to tears by The Poor Clares of Arundel during Tuesday’s This Morning.

The presenter, 39, admitted she was ‘taken by surprise’ as two nuns – who live alone in a convent in Sussex – shared an uplifting message about the coronavirus pandemic, after topping the charts with their album Light for the World. 

‘Sorry, when somebody says we’re going to be okay, it’s nice to hear isn’t it’, the emotional broadcaster confessed, before she asked co-star Phillip Schofield to take over her lines.

The community of 23 nuns became the UK’s best-selling classical artist debut of 2020, more than 800 years after they were founded.

On their achievements, the Sisters said: ‘We couldn’t imagine the success. The real success is not to be on TV or on newspapers.

‘It’s to know that our singing is helping others and that’s the most important thing. We are not really people that others look at.’

The musicians went on to declare they’re ‘looking out for others’ during the nationwide lockdown as they added: ‘We’re really thrilled that something of the essence of our lives is helping people.

‘If you’re at home and you’re fed up, feeling anxious or depressed… just know that somewhere in Arundel, there’s a community of women who are with you.  

‘We’re here and we’re making the journey as well.’

Dancing On Ice host Holly couldn’t hold back her tears as she added: ‘Some people just get talk and they really get you. That took me by surprise. Sorry, when somebody says we’re going to be okay, it’s nice to hear isn’t it.’

‘You’re going to have to read this next bit Phil’, the media personality added, before the programme cut to an ad break.

TV star Phillip, 58, later asked how the former Celebrity Juice panellist was doing after the interview, to which she replied: ‘I’ve pulled myself together now.’
