Britney Spears dances up a storm to her ex Justin Timberlake’s Jay-Z collaboration Holy Grail

She regularly shows off her impressive dance skills on Instagram.

And Britney Spears was moved by the groove of a familiar face on Wednesday: her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

The 39-year-old pop superstar twirled around and gyrated to Holy Grail, the lead track on Jay-Z’s 2013 album Magna Carta… Holy Grail, which features vocals from the former NSYNC singer.

Digging it: Britney Spears, 39, was moved to share a new dance on Wednesday as she grooved with her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake’s Jay-Z collaboration Holy Grail

Britney was dressed in a black mock turtleneck that had been rolled up to show off her trim midriff.

She also had on a short pair of black and white plaid booty shorts that were partially rolled down.

The Toxic singer was dancing in front of the camera on her tiled floor, with a fully lit Christmas tree in the background.

It wasn’t clear if the video was recorded around Christmas and saved for later, or if Britney has just been enjoying having the tree up, but it appeared to have some gifts underneath it.

Britney began by dancing in profile and slowing undulating her body while gazing seductively at the camera while Justin’s emotional vocals opened the song.

She could also be seen mouthing along with some of the lyrics, showing it was a song she knew well.

As soon as Jay-Z entered, the song went into turbo mode with more aggressive beats, and the songstress upped her energy levels to match.

‘I KNOW … turtle necks are SO ME!!!!,’ she gushed in her caption while tagging Justin’s Instagram account.

Later, she added extra text to her caption, possibly to explain away the Christmas tree.

‘Danced in my black [turtle emoji] neck last week to HOLY GRAIL !!!!’ she wrote.

Several Instagram users commented on the video to express puzzlement about the Christmas tree and presents.

Another person referenced Justin’s break-up song Cry Me A River in their comment.

‘What would be iconic and so 2001, is dance to “Cry Me a River” and tag him,’ they wrote.

Britney and Justin were first in close contact as Mouseketeers on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, with her joining in 1992 and him following in 1993.

The two fell out of touch for a few years after the show’s 1996 cancellation, but they reunited when Britney toured as support for NSYNC in 1998.

The singers struck up a romance later that year which would last until 2002.

After their break-up, Justin would release his solo break-up song Cry Me A River later in the year.

Back in April, Britney danced to another one of Justin’s songs, Filthy.

‘This is my version of Snapchat or TikTok or whatever the cool thing you’re supposed to do these days!!!!!’ read her hyperactive caption.

“As you can see I’m not really dancing folks… I’m just very bored,’ she said, referencing the early days of her pandemic quarantine.

She also clarified that she didn’t have any hard feelings against her former boyfriend.

‘PS I know we had one of the world’s biggest breakups 20 years ago…. but hey the man is a genius!!!! Great song JT!!!!! Psssss if you KNOW WHAT’S GOOD!!!!!’
