Brynne Edelsten says ‘2020 was the worst year of her entire life’ as she felt ‘completely broken’ following the breakdown of several relationships

Brynne Edelsten has spoken candidly about the breakdown of several relationships last year.

The Melbourne-based American socialite told the Herald Sun, she felt ‘completely broken’ and had to ‘rebuild myself’ after being left heartbroken.

‘Twenty twenty was a very difficult year and probably the worst year of my entire life,’ the 37-year-old said.

‘By the end, I’d gotten to the point that I felt completely broken as a person and had to find the strength to rebuild myself, my life and set boundaries.’

Brynne said she learned to ‘love herself again’ after ‘putting up with bad behaviour’.

She added: ‘I taught myself to enjoy my own company and to be happy with myself so that anyone else’s company is just a bonus but not necessary.’

Brynne has had quite the chequered romantic history over the past decade.

She first made headlines as the glamorous second wife of Geoffrey Edelsten.

They tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in November 2009 at Melbourne’s Crown Casino, with the ceremony reportedly costing $3.3million.

After five years of marriage, the pair separated in 2014 and finalised their divorce in April 2015.

Brynne went on the find love with comedian Brett Hunter, and the couple became engaged in June 2017.

At the time she told Stellar that she was content with swapping her luxurious life in a Melbourne penthouse for a suburban house share with three other flatmates.

‘As much as things may have been a lot easier during my marriage, as far as life in general, it was very lonely. I’d rather have to struggle a bit and be happy,’ she said.

But Brynne and Brett split in shortly after photos circulated of her kissing blonde beauty Coby Boatman.

That short lived romance seemed to have fizzled out when she found love with Leno Cachia after meeting in late 2017.

They went public with their relationship in March 2018, but in October 2019 she revealed they had split up in a lengthy rant on Instagram.

The socialite wrote at the time about her tumultuous relationship with the mechanic, and claimed she was ‘happier now’ as a single woman.

While she didn’t name Leno in the post, she used the hashtags ‘single’, ‘life is better without you’ and ‘I pick all the winners’.
